Elevator Project

The congregation of the First United Methodist
Church of Mexico is excited to announce the completion of the installation of a
handicap elevator in the church building. The elevator makes three levels of the
church easily accessible to all: the fellowship hall level, the sanctuary level,
and the upstairs level which is where the nursery, Sunday school rooms, and
offices of the church are located. The elevator received the final operating
inspection on February 28, and has since been usable. In recent years the people
of the church have undertaken the task of making the church safe and accessible
to everyone. To this end, a new parking lot was added behind the church to allow
for more off-street parking, and both a handicap ramp and a handicap accessible
restroom were built. Pictured here, following Sunday morning worship on March 4,
are, from left to right: Reverend William Palmer, Church Member Georgianna
Monson, and

For an elevator you need a fund raiser so the process
began. Thanks to all that worked on the committee
